Noah's Ark
Noah's Ark is a Summer Camp which is jointly sponsored by The
Downsview Youth Covenant and The Church of St. David, a sister church in the Humber
Deanery. St. David serves as the camp site. Thirty places are provided for children
between the ages of 5 and 12.
The focus of Noah's Ark is to provide professional,
low cost, supervised programming for 30 children (ages 5-12) and employment for 6-8 high
secondary or post secondary students (16-21) who would otherwise be unemployed during the
summer months.
One of the objectives of the summer camp is to provide a safe,
stimulating environment for the campers. We believe that every child should have an
opportunity to grow up in an environment that is safe, enjoyable and caring regardless of
their economic situation. Our camp provides some measure of relief to single parents and
families with low incomes. Programs are designed to enhance cognitive and spiritual
development and conflict resolution abilities.
