Black Anglicans in Toronto
Our Objectives include:
- Working towards the full recognition and involvement of Anglicans of
African and Caribbean Heritage in the Church.
- Providing a medium for drawing the concerns of Anglicans of African and
Caribbean Heritage to the Church authorities.
- Working with Church authorities to make the Anglican liturgy sensitive to
the culture of Anglicans of African and Caribbean Heritage.
- Fostering relationships with other groups of Anglicans of African and
Caribbean Heritage in Canada and in the wider Anglican communion.
- Providing a supportive network for individuals in parishes with Anglicans
of African and Caribbean Heritage.
- Collecting and disseminating information about the participation of
Anglicans of African and Caribbean Heritage in the Church.
- Encouraging new membership in, improving the attendance and promoting the
participation of Anglicans of African and Caribbean Heritage in the Church.
- Supporting and promoting the recognition of diversity, and the
elimination of discrimination in the Church.
- Supporting the ministry of young Anglicans of African and Caribbean
heritage and their families.
- Affirming the identity and contribution of Anglicans of African and
Caribbean heritage to the Diocese of Toronto and the Anglican Church of Canada.
- Fostering vocations to the ordained ministry among Anglicans of African
and Caribbean heritage.
- Recognising, affirming and bringing the gifts, skills and expertise to the life of the church.
- Support the ministry of clergy who are of African and Caribbean heritage and those who minister to members of our community.
- Providing assistance to the Church authorities as they share in ministry
with Anglicans of African and Caribbean heritage and other minorities.
