Welcome to our website, an extension of our ministry.
We live and serve in an exciting area in the city of Toronto. Our Church is located about 10 minutes from the Lester B. Pearson Airport, Canada's busiest airport, and 20 minutes from the downtown core.
In 1953, several young families who made Downsview their home established our parish. Their primary motive was the provision of Christian Education and nurture for their children.
Over the years, St. Stephen's has grown and has touched the lives of persons who now reside as far west as British Columbia and as far east as Nova Scotia. Of course, the ocean is no barrier to the spread of the gospel, for many who live beyond Canada's boundaries can also testify to the love which they have experienced in our community.
Our community is quite diverse with persons coming from all over the world and our worshipping community reflects this diversity. The members of St. Stephen's and the Friends of St. Stephen's comprise of persons coming from Bridgetown, Nova Scotia, to Bridgetown, Barbados; from Kingston, Ontario, to Kingston, Jamaica; from St. John's, Newfoundland, to St. John's, Antigua, from Scarborough, Ontario to Scarborough, Tobago; from Aliston, Ontario, to Anguilla, from Sri Lanka to St. Vincent, from Ghana to Guyana, from over twenty different countries. We have all found a home within the warm embrace of St. Stephen's family.
We are particularly proud of our youth program, The Downsview Youth Covenant, as we seek to serve the needs of our youth in our community. We endeavour, by the grace of God, to make a difference.
